Welcome to the Ground Up Farms. We are a local micro-farm and supplier of ATM - All Things Mushroom. Whether it is gourmet mushrooms, fungal supplements for body and mind, of even if you want to grow your own, we strive to be your ARM source.
One of the most important aspects of our work is to make mushroom farming as sustainable as possible. The use of polypropylene bags has exploded in recent years. While we still use some, our focus is on eliminating as many 'disposable' components of the process as possible.
Our Story
What does a retired biotech and biochemist do in retirement? Finally pursue his passion: fungi!! We are a micro-farm producing less than a ton of product this year. As such we have very close relationships with our clients. One of the challenges of delivering fresh mushrooms to the market is they have a very poor shelf-life. Consequently, we chose to work only with local establishments to ensure they get the very best, harvested daily! But not to forget the terrible hunger problem we have in our area, we also work with local food banks to provide fresh product for the tens of thousands in our community who go hungry every day.
